Some state and local police officers have a unique way of preparing for the summer season. Instead of reading through instruction manuals and taking written tests, 20 officers from the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, Prince William County Police Department and Virginia State Police recently spent two days going through an intensive water safety training course at the Prince William County Schools Aquatic Center at Charles J. Colgan Sr. High School.
